Guitar tabs offer hints on how to play a song on guitar.
EXAMPLE
Old ball game starts by plucking the low E string while fretting at the 3rd fret.
The next note is a plucking the G string at the 0 fret. 0, or Zero, is the nut. The nut is where the string starts at the top of the neck. Open string / No Fretting / Zero / 0.

The next two notes are the 2 and 0 zero on the D string.
Tabs DO NOT show anything other than the string and fret. It is up to you to make the song your own, that is why guitar is so intimate.
Unlike a cold piano, your warm fingers caress the strings. The tab will show you the the order of the notes, then you breath life into it to make it a song.3>
Tabs do NOT show music details like "real sheet music" does. Tabs are simple diagrams, which show which fret you play on which string. Most tab diagrams have 6 lines. These lines are the six strings on a guitar. The top line is the high E ( the thin string ) and the bottom line is the low E ( the fat string ).
BTW They are called low E and high E based on the frequency they are "tuned" to. The Low E has "low" frequency of 82 Hz. The high E has a frequency of 329 Hz. Hz in the number of times the stings gyrates per second.
The six stings in the diagram, top to bottom, are E 329Hz, B 246Hz, G 196Hz, D 146Hz, A 110Hz, E 82Hz.
ANYWAY....
...you DO NOT need to know the frequencies to play a tune.
You need to know which fret you pluck, on which string, in which order.
To make it VERY EASY TRY THIS....cover the tab diagram with a piece
of paper. Then slide the paper to the right exposing the first number and string..Then slide it to the right to see the next number......etc etc...Pluck the string/fret that is shown.
I create animated gifs which change on the screen automatically as you play the song
