Push the on/off button on the top.

Move the slider to the MIDDLE POSITION.

Push the DISP button several times to understand the 3 displays.

Push the FUNCSET button, this opens the setting menus

640 is a movie image about 6 inches tall on a computer screen

320 is a movie image about 3 inches tall on a computer screen.

15 MINUTES...640x480 30fps 16 min 21 sec

30 MINUTES...640x480 15fps 30 min 47sec

45 MINUTES...320x240 30fps 41 min 52 sec

1ONE HOUR...320x240 15fps 69 min 48 sec

640x480 30fps 10 seconds = 20 mb

LEARNING TO USE THE SD1000

Buy a 2 gig memory and start taking movies

Use different lighting, and differnt settings. Test it inside, outside, at night and all over of many things. This camera is easy to use, and the best way to learn it is to get out there and JUST DO IT. After a while you will know what it can do, and what it can not do. It is a limited camera, but for most situations it is a spectacular camera.

Use the collar, sleeve, ring around the FUNCSET button to change settings

You will see menus on the bottom and left side of the LCD.

Up and down on the collar, sleeve ring "tweeks" the camera.

Left and right on the collar, sleeve ring "tweeks" the camera.

Look at the menu on the left, scroll up and down

Depending on what you choose for video camera settings.

If you are on auto, very little changes. TRY IT NOW

Pushing the DISP and MENU buttons back you out. Push them.

When the white letters are on the screen, push FUNC SET, use the collar to move up/down and left/right.

Play with it. If you have a 2 gig memory card you can take an hour of video, or less if you want better quality.

Sit someplace, maybe the kitchen where you can test neon and reg lights

JUST DO IT...START TAKING Moving pictures

Take video of the same thing in many both light type, and then adjust the camera settings. eg from 640 to 320..or capture some time lapse video, or change the lighting by using MY COLORS. Use the FUNC SET collar, sleeve, ring navigate up and down the left menu and then across the bottom window. Move up/down and left/right.

Turn off the lights in the room, turn on the lights, go outside. Capture cars, capture the wind in the trees. Point the camera at your face and capture video in ALL SETTINGS........test it. movie movie movie..THEN INSTANTLY REVIEW YOU WORK. Push the shutter to start capturing video and push shutter button to Stop the camera. Slide the slider to the bottom setting, and use the FUNC SET ring, collar, sleeve to navigate your movies and pictures. OR

OR...use the sleeve, ring collar around the shutter button to navigate.

Test the video camera on all of the settings, in all lighting.

LEARN WAHT IT WILL DO AND WHAT IT WILL NOT DO.

ARE YOU FLABBERGASTED THAT A CAMERA THIS SMALL CAN TAKE 1000 pictures or an hour of video and it is so small.....DO NOT be mad for what it can not do. YOU should celebrate what it can do. YOU should know what it is capable of... and when it will not work... For the money we are amazed at this little treasure ...FUN FUN FUN
