"Californication"

however reading here should not matter, because....and...

....OUR POINT IS... advising you to watch "CALIFORNICATION".

The inspiration to write this review came after watching the first 11 episodes.

Rewatching the show now already knowing what happens ( so thought anyway)

is making it all the better. It is more enjoyable the 2nd time around,

even knowing all the spoilers.

 David Duchovny stars as Hank Moody,
    
Natascha McElhone stars as his girlfriend Karen Van Der Beek. 
Karen is the mother of Hanks's daughter.

The daughter, Becca Moody, is played by Madeleine Martin

Madeline Zima stars as Mia, the sexy, crazy, scheming 16 year old daughter of 
Karen's possible future husband. Madeline (Madster) has been a star for a long time. 
Ms Zima is not only a talented actor, 
she is also very perky

The question is...Is it a great show for him, or a great show for us?

I dont know the exact process of how a TV show and TV star come together,
but I bet if you were rich ( from a series like the X-files), and you
retired from it, that is would take a GREAT SHOW to bring you back.

I bet when this show was presented to David Duchovny, and he may have said...
"I dont want to do it unless you add a lot..A LOT..A WHOLE LOT of hot looking babes".
AND "they all will be naked, and I have sex with all of them". Then he may have
said "be sure it is well written", so all of the nakedness does not seem gratuitous.

On 2nd thought, maybe it does not have anything to do with the babes, but it sure helps.

Although we here at Netazine love the babes, it takes more than that to
inspire us to create a special web page.....OK OK...;) We also create web pages
just for hot babes too.....BUT I WANT TO ADVISE YOU ABOUT CALIFORNICATION,
aka "Punching and Fucking".....and sucking, and shocking.,,and funny..and
fresh...and David Duchovny and his dry witted humor..

I was a johnny come lateley "X-files" fan, but I slowly became a big fan,
especially after season 6 when the show fully bloomed. I watched (still watch) mainly
to hear/see David Duchovny's dry witted winks, nods and comments.
IMHO the X-file plots seem secondary to David Duchovny's attitude and one-liners.

BTW....
We did rent and watch David Duchovny's "House of D", but it did not have the the edge wanted...

ANYWAY.......we stumbled upon a brand new show, right out of the gate.

On August 30, 2007, we signed up for DirecTV, mainly for the NFL ticket.
Our special offer is, pay only $70.00 bucks per month and receive all the HBO/SHOWTIOME
movies until January. It has been a long time since we had ALL THE channels.
We were excited to see all the selctions, and we discovered even more.

We discovered "Californication" by scanning through the milions of channels.
We were attracted by David Duchovny's name and the 1/2 hour show too.

Showtime ran the first 4 episodes back to back, and we are
hooked.
On the first go round we had NO IDEA what was going on. I did not even
know if it was a new show, old show, or what.

We KNEW NOTHING about this show....IT CAME TO US....... we stumbled
into this show as its birth. HOW KEWL IS THAT? We have missed a lot
of these cable produced series e.g. Entourage, Weeds et al.

I am always honest, and I admit that sometimes I have to see a movie/series
several times to get the point. I think that may be the point. I love to
absorb things over time. I do not notice every little point or nuance on the
first go round, but ... IF IT IS GREAT ... I am more than happy to go back
and watch it all again.

"Californication" is one of these special shows...using the power of the mighty
HD-DVR we can now go back and watch the first episodes, after seeing the 11th
episode tonight, October 21st 2007. Oh boy!!! this is fun....I trusted David
Duchovny to take us on this journey, and he paid off... CALIFORNICATION IS GREAT.

We recorded as we watched season ONE episodes. We had no idea what was going on.
We are lucky we recorded all of the episodes ( the recording is ONLY for our in
home use, will be erased, and then we will buy the DVDs when they come out.

We used www.IMDB.com to learn more about Californication. IMDB is a great website.

We found out just how truley great this show and cast are.

We have become fans of Madeline Zima

Madeline Zima topless in "Californication" aka...

....aka "Fucking and Punching".

The set-ups are fun from the the get go. In episode one David Duchovny (and/or the writers )
chase off any viewers who might be offended by off-color humor. The very first scenes are
out of control, and set to Rolling Stones music too......OH BOY!!!!!

Then it builds..... and then..... the punch.... the story lines...and then....the hints...
and the broken headlight.....and all of it.....it is a must see.......so....JUST WATCH IT.

Hopefully after the season finale on Monday night, October 28 2007,
Showtime will be reshowing the series. It is fresh, funny and Duchovny.

.....oh...and The music is great too... a lot of classic songs, remixed in to new versions.

OK OK OK...FUN FUN FUN!!!!!!! Brilliant. It has been FOREVER since we last were
this excited to watch a dumb ole TV show. We can't remember the last time we
cared enough about a new/live TV show to even care....So it was fun that
we were excited and curious about what the finale would bring.

It all started with a music video which was a retell of the first 11
weeks ... SET TO THE ROLLING STONES!!!!! fkng kewl!!!! Mick must be fan too.

EPISODE 12 season 1 quotes and plot hints...




"IT" just happened dad...

We see Hank acting as the BEST DAD in the world.......and the conclusion 
of that scene had me, once again, laughing my ass off....ROFLMA.........

"There was a very nice lady at the super market helped us out"

"My dad wont let me publish my book"


Then the wedding setting, and all the charactors .... come together ...


"I just dont think I can fully endorce this union".


HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!! this is TOO MUCH...........HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE HAHAHAHAHA:)

...on the edge of my seat ... what great writing .... amazing ...... 
I have NO IDEA what they are going to do next.


then on with the show......

I cant wait until next season, this has been a blast.....



I think these shows must come from books, or single stories.
Then we meet and  get to know the quirky charactors. Then we want more.
Then just like the Sopranos ( I found that TV show at it's birth also ), they
are forced to write more..I may be wrong...but I do know about "pilots".
If a "pilot" is good they buy a 12 weeks series. If that works, they order
season 2. Season 2 of Califonication has been ordered.

I dont know where it will all lead next year, but I will be watching.
It will never be as sweet as the first, when it was all new and a surprise.
But it can sure can be a an extension of more of the same,,,,,and fun fun fun ....

What did it all mean? What was the point? 

Maybe the main point was for David D to enjoy all those naked hot babes.

Or was that just a facade?

IMHO, to see the point, you have to read between the lines, and 
see through all of Hank's actions. On the surface Hank may seem 
to have a wierd attitude about women, but in the long run he comes
through. 

 Is it wrong to look too deep? Is it wrong to look for the point?

One big point was..DID YOU NOTICE that Hank SHUT UP when the shit hit
fan.. Most people would start blabbing, and accsuing...BUT Hank kept
his mouth shut, and it all worked out. THE MORAL.....say less, it is better.
Let others dig thier own graves, but do not dig your own, with too many words.

Is the point is to tell US that some guys may get all the strange hot sex, 
BUT there is really nothing better than a great woman who loves us. Maybe 
they are telling us that the grass ( fur ) ( or bald, depending ) may not be 
greener. Sometimes is can get us in nothing but self inflicted trouble.

Hank loves his daughter, and he loves the mother of his daughter. He wants 
them, but he can not have his cake and eat it too. Is he just another
man, who is still a boy, because our generation never went to war. Are we
just spoiled idealist who want nothin but a good time, except when we are
depressed and then we want the simple love of a good woman?

Is that the moral the we mere mortals should be happy with the simple 
love of a good women. To treat her right.  Do the things to make her
love us and keep her at our side???

Life is great, but sometimes our desire to make it even greater can
be lead to our demise. But if all the charactors were boring there
would be no drama....Johnny Drama.....SO the poin is..... maybe, we 
jump knee deep in the hoopla on purpose....just for the fun of it...
...to allow us to partake in life's fucking and punching....
